7 FEB 2020 730pm

NEXUS NEW MUSIC is a FREE concert on 7th Feb 2020 at the Nexus Art Cafe in the Northern Quarter, Manchester.

The evening features three short performances of contemporary music from RNCM trained musicians.

Darren Gallacher is an award winning percussionist from Scotland and recent graduate from the RNCM. On 7th February his performance will be centred around the satisfying and enchanting phenomenon of Synchronicity.

Cleo Annandale (Violin) and Helene Mathiesen (Voice) will perform excerpts from RNCM graduate composer Charlotte Marlow's semi-staged song cycle: Folk Songs inspired by the untold stories of women in mythology.

The Nexus Duo, an emerging ensemble comprising Andrew Birse (violin) and Chloe Randall (cello), will finish the evening with some unusual sounds from some of their favourite composers Lera Auerbach, Kaija Saariaho and Iannis Xenakis.

This concert is an exclusive taster for an upcoming performance at Manchester's Victoria Baths on 4th June 2020.

Nexus New Music's 7 Feb. performers will return along with two more acts; each taking over a room in 'The Flat' for a gallery concert in which you can walk freely between the rooms and enjoy the varied performances with drink in hand. (Visit the Victoria Baths' bar on your way up).

Put the date in your diary now and sign up for an email reminder one week before the concert. (Your details will be used only for this and then deleted.)
